Firefighter Visit

We had some special guests today- the Southside Firefighters came to see us at school! We got to see two big firetrucks, lots of firefighting tools, and even used a fire hose. We learned that even though firefighters might look and sound scary in all their gear, they are here to help us, so we should never run away or hide from them if they have to come to our house to fight a fire. We also learned about STOP, DROP, and ROLL, and practiced in our classroom.

After all that, we went back inside and made a firetruck themed snack. We spread strawberry jelly on a slice of bread, made a ladder out of pretzels, added a fruit pull apart hose and some gummy wheels. Yummy!
