More Fun with Pets

We've been working on patterning this week. Using stamps, we made picture patterns with lots of different pet friends. We made big patterns as a center group, small patterns on our own, and flannel board patterns at circle time. We've learned that if we say the pattern out loud while we point to the picture, it's sometimes easier to figure out what comes next!

We worked on our categorizing skills too! We cut out lots of pictures of things our pets need, and sorted them on charts. One chart showed what cats need, dogs need, and things both cats AND dogs need. We had another collage for things other kinds of pets (birds, hamsters, etc) need.

By far, the most popular activity this week has been our vet pretend play! We have had such fun bandaging up lots of boo boos, pulling out splinters, checking x-rays on the light box and listening to hearts and lungs.

It takes two to get this wiggly kitty's bandaid on!

Puppy's belly hurts.

such good care for the critters
Open up and say "AHH"!
Kitty is starting to feel better!

Turtle needs a full body cast.

We needed a lot of xrays to see the bones inside.

The vet is here- can he help my kitty?
Playing, pretending,  and learning together!
