Ii is for Ice Cream!

Happy New Year!
We were so excited to come back to school to see all our friends. We started off with the letter Ii for this short week. Usually ice, icicles, igloos are perfect winter Ii words, but warm January days definitely mean Ii is for ice cream too!

See, Read, Build, and Write Ii!

Playing with friends at our table activities!

We talked about warm and cool colors, and made some beautiful winter placemats for January.

Our reading group read When Water Freezes together to learn how ice is made.

A new month means the sensory table changed into a snow table with ice, snowballs, snowflakes, arctic animals and cool crystals.

Our kitchen center has everything we need to make ice cream treats!

Ice cream cone names! We counted up our letters, added them to our favorite flavor scoops and built a name cone.

We ended our Friday with an ice cream taste test! Everyone tried neapolitan ice cream, and decided which flavor is the favorite. Choosing just one was the hardest part- we loved them all!

We used our graphing chart to build a pictograph of our votes, and counted up the results->
delicious math in action!
