Spring Fun!

Everyone was so happy to see each other
after our spring break last week!

While we were on break we missed 3 big birthdays, so we had to celebrate them all this week!

We can see the signs of spring all around us here at school. The many azaleas have bloomed in multiple shades of pink, and we love collecting the petals that have fallen to the ground. We also loved creating our own spring flower pics with markers, empty bottles and paint!

Spring learning centers!
We had 2 different reading centers this week: one about signs of spring, and another about butterflies and their life cycle.

We practiced sorting and sounding out those tricky "leaning line letters" that can be so problematic.

We had a great time with the clips and pond boards practicing our letters and numbers.

The vet box came back out this week!

We had an open writing table, and created some things to share with our friends at circle time!

Frogs have an amazing life cycle too! We read about it, looked at models, and created a flow chart to show the amazing metamorphosis from egg to frog.

Fun at the pond! We had a spring pond filled with all kinds of pond creatures, including lots of clear water bead "frog eggs".

Butterfly Magic!
We dripped paint onto one side of a folded card, then closed it, squished and rubbed the paint around. The surprised smiles as they opened them up were priceless! We will trim the extra white paper off and use these on our April placemats so we can see them every day.

Happy Spring!

St. Patrick's Day 2019

Monday morning we noticed some glitter had fallen on the sidewalk, and seemed to make a trail heading towards the playground. When we opened the gate, we could tell that the leprechauns must have come into town early, and dropped some gold on their way to the parades!

We had such fun finding it all!

We also had a special birthday we could share with family and friends!

Wednesday, we had our annual WIPP parade!
