Our Wonderful World!

From the rainforest to the ocean-
it's a big wonderful world out there!

making our tissue collage planet Earths

We played with Jan Brett's The Umbrella for several days. We learned about rainforest animals, enjoyed a small world of rainforest toys, built our own umbrella story prop with animals, and practiced retelling and sequencing the story. It's a new favorite book!

Fine motor fun!

experimenting with fancy scissors and hole punches

practicing our letters together!

We strung lots of little beads to make our colorful butterflies and dragonflies
Uu is for unicorn!
Our sensory table switched over a little early for May: now we are hanging out at the beach! Our table has sand, beach toys, little people and shells for us to play in at center time.

We traveled to the ocean this week! We made starfish calendars for May.

Dolphins!
Our trip to see the dolphins was a little bit delayed, but we still had some dolphin learning at school.

A House for Hermit Crab activities

Careful listening! We followed oral directions to complete a coloring activity based on the story. Our placemats for May are crabby too!

Mr. Seahorse taught us all about ocean daddies that take care of their babies. We got started on sponge painting some seahorses of our own.

After such a rainy start to the week, we headed out on a beautiful afternoon to enjoy some bubbles!
