Week of Nov. 3

After all the fun and excitement of Halloween, it was relaxing and fun to get back to our regular routine this week. We started learning about the letter Cc- sounds, words, and how to write it. We also  added some fall decorations to our room in the hall with our counting corn-field and thankful turkey feathers. The camera was not out most of the week, but here are a few pictures of some of our centers:

any kind of building blocks and the kitchen are always popular rug activities:

Popping all the kernels off dried ears of corn is SUPER fun, and great for finger strengthening (not the mention the fine motor practice we all enjoyed trying to pick up the individual kernels of corn that  popped all over! :)

Cc is for car! We cut out lots of cars from newspaper for sale ads, and glued them down on Cc roads.

Practice makes perfect! Writing is HARD, and often one of the centers that does not generate a lot of enthusiasm. However, writing in purple sand on the lightbox as a way to work on number formation was a big hit.
