Community Helpers

What a wonderful BUSY week we just had! Besides all the excitement and fun of getting ready for Halloween, we also spent a lot of time with some community helpers. First up- the firefighters came to visit, along with two fire trucks. We got to see all the equipment, hear about the big tools for cutting through buildings and cars, and even got a chance to try out the fire hose (if we wanted to)!

Our next visitor was Ms. Pam from Oatland Island. She brought along 3 nocturnal animals for us to meet! We saw a cute little flying squirrel, a screech owl and an opossum. It was so interesting to learn that these 3 animals are all around us here in our neighborhoods, but we rarely see them because they are only out at night!

Our class was an amazing audience with great manners!

But that wasn't all our visitors- later in the week, we had another special guest: Dr. Mahany from Island Vet Clinic! He brought along a buddy to teach us all about how a dog gets a check up from tip to tail. We even got to help check him over. We are so grateful to Dr. Mahany and his staff for taking the morning to come out and share what he does for our furry friends.

The end of the week was all about HALLOWEEN!! This time, WE got to be the community helpers as we traveled over to Summer Breeze to spend some time trick or treating with the residents. Our kids were smiling over the candy and fun, and we brought lots of smiles to the folks at the home with our costumes and songs. We are so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful community!
