Life Cycles at the Pond
We have been learning about life cycles this week- how some creatures such as frogs and butterflies change dramatically as they grow.
Our room had a frog pond this week, with frog eggs, tadpoles, froglets and frogs. There were also lily pads, snakes, insects, and even an alligator. We had fun in the thick slimy water with all the critters!
We also read about insects with wings this week, and started stringing beads for butterfly and dragonfly wings. We'll finish our flying bugs on Monday!
Tinker toys are probably one of our favorite morning table toys. They are perfect for creative construction on our own or with our friends.
Wikki Stix letters!
Using some simple ramps, tubes, and turns, we problem solved our way through building tunnel tracks for balls and cars.
Of course, building with regular blocks is always fun too!
We took those leftover water beads from the frog pond and had a wonderful time building mazes for them to bounce and slide down.
The best part of the week was BIKE DAY!
We took some breaks whenever we got tired to chat, try a friend's scooter, have some water or draw for a bit.
Then we hit the road again!
Afterwards, we had some popsicles and pineapple at the picnic tables!
