Fire Safety Week!

This week was fire safety week here at WIPP! We had several circle times and centers about fire safety, and spent one morning learning from 2 of our local firefighters and checking out the fire truck.

Our Let's Find Out magazine was about fire fighters.

Fire fighting sight words!

We can practice those "I see" sentences at home too!
STOP, DROP, and ROLL! We learned what to do if our clothes ever caught on fire. If you look closely, you might see our post it "spark" that we tried to remove by rolling back and forth. This was quite fun at circle time, but we also talked seriously about how we do not touch candles, fireplace fires, hot stoves, etc.

Other center fun this week included letter building, circle time letter challenges, Halloween glitter play dough, felt board fun, monster listening, and spider web art!

For our spider webs, we first drew lines with a white crayon on white paper. This was hard to see! Then we dripped watercolor paint all over the paper, and saw our lines start to pop out. After letting these dry, we were super excited to see that the paper towels underneath our watercolor paper had also been beautifully painted. We then cut out a web outline, and glued the Halloween web down on some black paper. Add a cute spider, and here is our Halloween art!

We had to be extra careful listeners to do this.

The towel is as pretty as the paper!
