It's December!

Our first few days back from Thanksgiving vacation were still in November, but we all came back ready to fill up our classroom with the Christmas spirit!

We made our new placemats by using green strips of paper in varying sizes to create a Christmas tree. We started with longer ones on the bottom, and got smaller and smaller towards the top. Then we decorated our trees with some ornaments and enjoyed using them on Friday for the first time.

Our sensory bin changed again! The corn kernels and farm animals disappeared, and red and green noodles filled the table. Mixed in with the noodles are small stockings, jingle bells, and nativity finger puppets- it will be fun all month!

We made a book about Christmas lights this week that helped us practice our color words.

Another reading center had us learning about mailing cards at the holidays. We also made our own cards at our writing center.

Big and little legos are fun to build with when we arrive in the morning!

We had lots of fun decorating and redecorating our classroom Christmas tree!

We built lots of letters and shapes with our letter builders again!

We used our careful cutting skills to cut out angel wings, and added some snowy white glitter. We make a beautiful chorus of angels!

Pastor Andy came to visit this week!
He told us all about the birth of Jesus and the beginning of Christmas.

A new month means new books on the shelves! We love looking at all our holiday books.

We had a rainy day this week, and missed our playground time. But, no one was sad about it! We learned a new musical game to play. All around the table were stockings with letters on them. We walked around the table while the music was playing, and sat down quickly when it stopped. Ms. Heather called out a letter, and we all checked if our chair had the match. If so, we got a candy cane to take home!

Last, but certainly not least, we celebrated another special birthday!
