Dr. Seuss Week- Part 1

What a wonderful week!
Every day was about a different Dr. Seuss book (or 2!).

Monday: The Foot Book and Fox in Socks

We wore our favorite shoes and socks to school today! After talking about measuring and making an estimate, we used shoes to see how long we are (with the help of a counting classmate). We finished up by talking about how we usually use rulers to measure, and how a whole 12 inch ruler is called a foot. Then, we picked out some paint colors and got started painting some giant feet.

Tuesday: 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

Fishing fun was in order for Tuesday! We had our own alphabet pond for catching letters and sounds. We also worked on recognizing our numbers to 20 with some goldfish crackers.

Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday and Bartholomew and the Oobleck

EVERYTHING was mixed up on Wacky Wednesday! Our clothes and hair looked all wacky and wild. We came in to a room with mixed up table jobs and name cards that didn't match anyone there. The letters on the board looked all wrong, and we worked together to fix those. Then, after mixing up some ooey gooey oobleck, we played in the goo at one center, and made those colorful feet  from Monday extra wacky at another center.

so many wacky feet!
