Feb. 20 - 24

We had some special visitors this week: it was our annual Donuts with Daddy breakfast! We've been working on special gifts for our own family superheroes, and we loved getting to finally give them to Daddy. After present giving, we ate some donuts, colored at the tables, had our picture taken by Mrs. Horton, and cuddled up for some reading with our wonderful dads.

The rest of the week was busy too! We have 100th Day coming up, and we spent some time this week finishing up our super hero shape capes and superhero masks. Each shape on the cape has 10 carefully counted stickers- that makes 100 stickers counted by our 100 day heroes. Whew!

Of course, even with big days like Donuts with Daddy and the upcoming 100th Day, we still had time to practice lots of letters, paint beautiful rainbows for our March calendars, and learn about all the community helpers that make up our hometown superheroes.

Spring seems to have sprung! We had a great time outside over at the back field.

Our Week 2/13 - 2/17

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day celebration in class! After passing out our cards, we had a tasty lunch brought in by our awesome parents. Thank you to all for making the day so special!

Wednesday- Friday, we had several friends absent with various illnesses. As we talked about the letter Ww, we focused on how important it is to wash our hands to keep from spreading germs. At centers, we watercolored a large whale to go with our bible story about Jonah, and had a messy good time in shaving cream as we washed lots of our toys.

We continued talking about healthy habits as we read Clarabella's Teeth . After reading about how Clarabella the Crocodile spent all day brushing her teeth, we decided we could help her out at centers! Using toothbrushes and toothpaste, we got to work getting her big teeth clean. Those molars have lots of nooks and crannies that can trap food, so we had to be really careful to get every bit clean, just like with our teeth! We also read books about the dentist and the tooth fairy as we learned about taking good care of our teeth. We tossed giant healthy mouth ball around our circle, taking turns to share ideas about healthy habits with each other.

We finished up the week with some beautiful paintings and fun with our friends!
