Hello, November!

Well, there is no doubt Halloween was THE big day this week- see earlier post for pics of all of us in our costumes! The camera didn't come out a whole lot the rest of the week, but we were busy learning every day as we dove into November. We have been talking about the harvest, Fall, and what it means to be thankful for the good things in our lives.

Tuesday, we worked on cutting a lot. We are making a "thankful for my friends" turkey wreath, and need to cut out pieces each day in order to have enough to put together our projects next week. The letter Cc was introduced, and we had a program practice to work on our Thanksgiving songs. Our new sensory bin was unveiled, and we have been having lots of fun all week in the corn, shucking kernels and playing with the farm animals and trucks in the bin this month.

Wednesday, we created trees using lots of rectangles, practiced writing the letter Cc, and had guided reading with a magazine all about what happens to pumpkins after Halloween. Our pumpkin is sitting in the garden right outside our window so we can watch the rotten science in action over the next week or so. We also made big turkey feathers for our thankful turkey on the bulletin board.

Thursday, we finished up those rectangle trees with torn paper fall leaves. These will be our November placemats. We also kept going on those wreath pieces, worked on initial sounds, and enjoyed some rug time with the new big box of legos Ms. Heather brought in to class.

Friday is our weekly music day with Ms. Becca. We got together with Ms. Deborah's class to practice our program songs. We love music days! After that, we spent some time creating corn cobs and counting corn kernel sets.

Most of all, we spent lots of time laughing and learning with our friends- we are so THANKFUL for each other!
