Fall Fun

We started out our week talking about the cornucopia basket, and how it is a traditional Thanksgiving symbol because it holds harvest foods. We got to work on some fruits and vegetables that needed painting, learning how to use just one brush, washing and drying the brush in between colors.

Our sensory table for November has dried corn and farm animals- we love playing at this table!

Thursday, we started out the morning with a shared reading activity for There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves.

Then it was time to head outside and see what could be found on a nature walk.

After our nature walk, we got down to our morning centers.

Friday morning we got to work with all those items from our nature hunt and made nature pictures. You can see them hanging up in our room and in the hall.

We had some special visitors from Oatland Island! Ms. Michelle brought us 3 nocturnal animals to meet: Crocus the alligator (nocturnal during the heat of the summer), Astrid the opossum, and Icarus the screech owl. Ms. Michelle had lots of wonderful facts to share, as well as some bones, feathers, and songs. All our 4s were attentive and polite, and loved meeting our animal friends!
