Seuss-tastic Learning!

Wednesday

We came back from spring break looking a little wackier than usual- it was Wacky Wednesday! We had friends with wild hair, mixed up shoes, clothes that were backwards, mixed up and altogether wonky. It was a wonderful way to learn about the letter Ww!

For our Wacky Wednesday centers,

1- We used dry erase marker to find all the crazy mistakes in some I Spy pictures.

2- We used the Word Whammers to build some real - and wacky- words.

3- We built Ww out of wild animal print paper.

4- We played with wild animals in the water!

Thursday

Thursday was all about Bartholomew and the Oobleck! We read the book first, then made some oobleck of our own. Before mixing, we felt the dry powdery cornstarch, and the wet water. Mix them together, though, and you get something wonderfully strange! Our oobleck felt solid, but flowed. It could be crumbled, and squished.

Friday

Crazy Hat Day! Friday we wore hats in honor of The Cat in the Hat. We made some new crazy hats at centers, as well as a Cat in the Hat mask and some Things for our door (look for pics of these next week after all our glue has dried). We've been working on rhyming words, and the kids are all doing a great job hearing rhymes everywhere!

Last, but not least, we had 2 birthdays last week!
