Me and My Home

We worked hard this week wrapping up our All About Me Unit. We painted mirror pictures one day, trying to match hair and eye color. We used real hand mirrors during this process, trying to orient our facial features on our painting. This can be a bit tricky!

We read a couple books about feelings, and tried to show those feelings on our faces. It was very dramatic! :) Then, we used the big mirror to make faces and imagine ourselves doing fun jobs. This is all part of a class book we will finish next week.

Hh is for HOME

We talked quite a bit about the letter Hh this week! Here is our picture sort from circle time:

We read In a People House, then worked on our cutting skills as we searched through magazines for items that we could categorize as belonging inside or outside a house.

We built shape homes this week using circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles. Then, we dictated a sentence to Ms. Heather about our home. Everyone picked a spot for each home on our neighborhood poster, and added trees and flowers. After reciting our address for Mrs. Horton (our homework for this week), we found house numbers for our shape house that matched our real address numbers. Our neighborhood looks like a wonderful place to live!
