Spring has Sprung!

We have been playing, laughing and learning up a spring storm!

Letters: We focused in on the letter Nn this week. We read books about nests, practiced writing, and made lots of NOISE. We also always try to keep using all the letters in our centers, and did 2 listening centers with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We listened to a cd recording as we read the book, paying attention to the words and listening for the signals to turn the page. We had a following directions center with the story that made us use careful listening ears- tricky! The listening center was a big hit, so we enjoyed some other books on cd as well.

A new month means a new sensory table! This month, we have a garden growing in our table. Brown rice, pots, garden tools, flowers and of course, lots of BUGS have had our little crew of gardeners busy playing together as they plant their "gardens".

Easter is coming! We have been reading books about new life, and how Jesus loved us so much that he gave his life for us, and rose again on Easter. We learned that the cross reminds us of this, and that is why we always see it in church. We made some beautiful paintings of the cross that look like stained glass windows. First, we traced a cardboard cut out of a cross in the middle of our paper. Then, we divided all the extra space into pieces. Last, we painted each piece. Look for these to come home this week!

Last, but not least, our class went fishing on the April board in the hall!
