Chilly Fun!

Welcome back from Christmas vacation! We have started off the new year with an arctic blast, inside and out. After unwrapping ourselves from hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, sweaters and coats, we got to work on some polar themed learning.

There's always time to read, and it's even more fun in our igloo tent:

After reading a book on many different kinds of polar animals, we practiced being penguin mommies and daddies and walking with our "egg" held up off the cold snow. We even had very slow penguin egg races!

We have enjoyed some pretend snow at our sensory center, along with some polar animals:

We've been talking a lot about the letter Ii the past couple of days:

Along with some magazine reading and sentences about opposites:

The weather may be getting warmer, but there is a lot more icy fun ahead!
