Hearts and Heroes!

When we came in Monday morning this week, we found that a gaggle of 26 letter robots had hidden themselves in the classroom. We got right down to finding them all and matching them up with the correct square on our carpet.

Then on Friday, those pesky robots must have slipped out through the door while it was propped open for carpool, because all 26 were hiding in the gardens! We went out and rounded them up AGAIN before they could get too far.

Our little authors turned their talents to comic book art this week!

First, we drew pictures with ground, sky and simple shape buildings.

Then we traced all our pencil lines with a black crayon (this makes it easier when painting to stay in our lines).

Then, we painted carefully!

Last, we added superhero pose pictures and dictated text about our super powers to Ms. Heather. We'll display our pages on the bulletin board next week, then put them together for a comic book for our library.

We love reading our class books every day!

The 100th Day of School is getting closer! We started work on making shape sticker sets for our Hundred Day Hero capes.

Valentine's Day letter matching

Valentine's Day!

We celebrated Valentine's Day this week! We cut out lots and lots of hearts for some giant cards- with giant envelopes- for Mom and Dad. We also made "key to my heart" necklaces, and did some reading about hearts in our weekly magazine. We carefully passed out all our valentines for our friends during the first part of the morning, and finished our day with some yummy cookies and juice. Thank you to all our parents for sending in cards and party snacks/ drinks!
